2007 DOE Summer School in Multiscale Mathematics and High Performance Computing
Participants
Background
The prerequisites for this course have been established to help you get the most out of this summer school. As we develop the level of content for course, we are envisioning participants who have had the equivalent background to two years of graduate training in a physical, mathematical, or computational sciences program and who are currently pursuing research programs requiring a developing expertise in scientific computing.
Suggested prior coursework:
- partial differential equations
- linear algebra
- probability and statistics
- numerical analysis
- computational physics
As a programmer, you should be capable of writing programs in C, Fortran, and/or Matlab; you should be comfortable working in a Unix programming environment.
